Our talented group of roboticists is at the core of Symbotic's automation solution—Symbot, our mobile robot. We work tirelessly to deliver solutions for storage and retrieval tasks in fully autonomous systems that operate hundreds of Symbots at various customer locations.
Your responsibilities
- Innovative Design: Develop and implement advanced control strategies for mobile robots that enhance precision and operational efficiency.
- Collaborative Development: Work closely with a diverse team of roboticists and software engineers to engineer advanced robotic control software that expands our capabilities.
- Project Excellence: Ensure project success by delivering high-quality results, engaging in architectural discussions, and collaborating effectively with other engineering teams.
- Architectural Vision: Contribute to the architectural integrity of our solutions, ensuring they are innovative and adaptable for future advancements.
- Intelligent Navigation: Apply cutting-edge path planning and navigation algorithms to enable our robots to navigate complex warehouse environments accurately.
- Innovative Solutions: Utilize your expertise to integrate AMQP messaging within system controls and adopt Behavior Trees to enhance robot state management.
- Reliability Enhancement: Improve the reliability and testability of our software codebase, ensuring a solid foundation for our pioneering robots.
- Performance Mastery: Optimize motor controllers and assess robot performance, guaranteeing maximum operational effectiveness.
What you'll need
- Educational Excellence: A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is essential for success.
- Coding Expertise: A minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering, including a strong command of C++ and embedded coding principles tailored for real-time applications.
- Real-time Acumen: Familiarity with real-time or embedded systems and the ability to address threading and communication challenges associated with these environments.
- Process Proficiency: Experience with software processes and version control systems to ensure seamless collaboration.
Our environment
- Up to 10% travel may be required. Employees must hold a valid driver’s license to travel to client sites.
- Employees are expected to manage their expenses personally, with reimbursements issued bi-weekly.
